DTM File

Hey Guys,

I'm not and LDD user, but have access to the software for occasional use.

Someone sent me a DTM file that I need to extract the necessay files, like the PNT, SDF and TIN files in order to get the Contours.

I,ve looked at the help files and have not found a way to this.

I'm using LDD4 and have created a Project using the drawing supplied by these other folks. The drawing was originally created in Microstation J and Geopak, so I'm thinking that they converted that data into LDD.

I would appreciate any help in solving this thing.

Thanks,

Mark

What type of file is the DTM? ascii or binary. Can it be zipped up an e-mailed?

I think I've tried this myself once before and did not succeed.

Microstation DTM files will not work in Autocad. Period. If they have converted the files to LDD and have sent you the DTM folder, all you have to do is copy this folder to your project in its DTM folder. Then open LDD and open the DTM program, go to SURFACE, down to OPEN and open the surface. Then back to surface, down to VIEW SURFACE and select IMPORT 3D LINES. You should now have the surface. If not the data is Anygraph and you are dead in the water.
The data formats between Intergraph and LDD are incompatable. Or so says our tech reps.

Mark,

The file is a Binary file - opened in Notepad. I'm not sure how to E-Mail you the file, but if you fill me in, I can Zip it and send it to you.

Dent,

It came as a .DTM file extension - No Folder.

Thanks

Joe
