"Recover" number of errors record?
« on: October 13, 2004, 04:18:14 PM »
Does anyone know what the current record is for number of errors in one drawing that was recovered?

 140     Blocks audited
Pass 1 32260   objects audited
Pass 2 32260   objects audited
Pass 3 151100  objects audited
Total errors found 28204 fixed 28204

Regenerating model.

This is from a drawing a just received. Very ridiculous.

No, and while I've some real buggers I would nominate that one if I were you. Third party software have a hand in making that mess?

Yeah, the CDG purge was going almost as long as the recover.

Well it seems I have a new winner...

"Auditing Entities Pass 2

Pass 2 277300  objects audited

Auditing Blocks

 48      Blocks audited

Total errors found 83,103 fixed 83,103

Erased 0 objects"

If you drew the stuff correctly the first time, you wouldn't have that problem.  :)

Not my drawing!

Did it originate from DataCAD?

I'm not sure of the origins.

I've seen a few that could top that but it is a lot.

Indeed it is. I would think you'd start noticing problems and try to fix them around 50,000 errors.

The file started at 15mb and with an audit and purge it reduced to 400kb.

I can just about guarantee you that the file it came from was fine but that it was done in an entirely different CAD package and that the translation is the problem.

I just contacted the person whom sent me the drawings and they are using AutoCAD 2006 to add their information and they aren't having trouble with the files. There must be something going on between the original program, the 2006 translation and then the 2007 translation. (we're using 2007)

I would assume the original program has been modified to translate into AutoCAD 2004, 2005 and 2006 just fine, but the new ARXs and file format of 2007 haven't been updated in which ever program it is.
