If you are really trying to copy and paste C3D entities like that you are going to have No Fun.
You will be best served to
A) Export the data via XML, import into the desired file and apply styles as required

OR

B) Issue data shortcuts for that data
Reference it in to the destination file and apply styles as required

OR

C)  Crash C3D into a wall. (here's your helmet)

What I'm cutting and pasting was just dumb entities.  i also tried draw lines, circles, create-delete viewports, insert anything on a brand new file... when you close (without saving) will not prompt me any choices of saving it or not.  And the worst thing is that only happening on my computer that's 1 of 7 workstation running c3d2009.

OK, do you have the open close save hot fix applied to all machines?
Or did yours get skipped when they were applying patches to C3D?

I did checked the version and I have the latest sp (update 2).  the strange thing is that why is not asking me to save it or not.  cvl3d just automatically saving it.

Im thinking of reinstalling the cvl3d again. :realmad:

I even uninstall all my lisp routine...... no luck, problem still there.

Yeah, I didn't think it would affect it, but thought it was worth a try.

One last idea I have, do you have a third party application running that autsaves your drawings at a set time, thereby resetting the drawing's internal "needs to be saved" variable (DBMOD)?

try exporting the profile from a machine that IS working correctly
import and set current on the offending machine and test....

If FAIL

Happy removing the software Day to You!

Hey Jeff_M,  you're right i do have 3rd party software running (did not notice) called "DWGMAN" (http://www.caelink.com/).   ive checked the option and 1 of the option is to "ALWAYS SAVE".

TO ALL:
Thanks for all the input.
