Autocad ADT- resetting the menus etc to vanilla
« on: October 29, 2008, 01:30:21 PM »
Hi

I was around this forum several years ago, but have been away whilst working on Vectorworks as my primary package at work.

Am now back on AutoCAD for a university course, and have a clean install of Autocad 2004 Architectural Desktop on which I am now working.

However, I remember from previously there is a way to alter the menu setup - architectural desktop having fewer menus across the top, than does the vanilla version of autocad. There may be other differences too. I remember having to choose a specific setup file somehow from an option menu / file window, but can't remember where this was located or if it was a typed command.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?!  :-)

Thanks.

just build your own CUI or workspace with only the toolbars you desire loaded
set that as the default profile and away you go

did 2004 have cui and workspace? I thought it was all done through "menuload" and loading a different template file... and I'm pretty sure I used to do something else, but cant think what...
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

wow, totally missed the 2004, yes menu loads...that would be the ticket
save your current menus (mnu, mns files) and your profile, and have fun with it
