"Standard" sheet names/numbers
« on: October 07, 2008, 01:07:57 PM »
This is for all you archies/interior designers of the Swamp...

I'm doing some architectural plans of our existing building and I'd like to know what the "standard" is for sheet names and numbering.

I.E....
A-101  FIRST FLOOR PLAN
A-102  FIRST FLOOR PART PLAN
F-101  FIRST FLOOR FURNITURE PLAN

Can anyone point me in the right direction or post a sample of your company's standard?

Thanks.

You could use the National CAD Standard naming convention as available from https://cadbim.usace.army.mil/default.aspx?p=s&t=13&i=4.
Attached is section for numbering.
Hope it helps.

Incidentally, not architecture or interior oriented.

Our way is in transition from being screwed up to a little less screwed up.  So I will just see what others post.   I can tell you this we are not going to NCS.  A little too cumbersome and complicated.  Typical like the Military.

Hey......settle down a bit there, Krushert....

"Typical like the Military."

They only upset me once...I happen to still have a soft spot for them.......yeah they can be silly.....sometimes......okay most times...oh all right, pretty well all the bloody time.

But I still have a soft spot for them....after all, I was one once.

I have a soft spot for them too but it doesn't mean that we civilians have to adopt military protocol and procedures and process for civilian applications.  Just my opinion that is about worth a 1/2 cent.  :-)

Another question... What is the "typical" order for architectural sheets?

I.E floor plans first, then rcp's?, then interiors?

Which is neither national, nor the standard.....

FWIW, AECC standard is what the NCS was initially based off of, and AECC is NCS compliant (go figure), but that link is not the NCS.

I realize that it is not the NCS.
I thought it was clear that the naming convention was per the NCS available from the AECC (the link) seeing that the NCS costs $ and AECC is free.
