DText Color Background
« on: June 16, 2008, 01:32:31 PM »
Something I did apparently changed a setting recently because when I create dtext (single line text) it now has a white background and I cannot see the text as I type it. All I see is a white block. Where is the setting for this?

Maybe you turned on the background mask, and set the color to WHITE?  Try right-clicking in the MTEXT editor and selecting "Background mask...", just to see what it says.

D'oh - never mind.

Just realized you said it was with single text, not MTEXT....

Yeah just single line text. Only when I create new dtext though does this happen. If I edit the text after creating it it displays as it normally would.

Stupid question:  Have you tried restarting AutoCAD?

Yep. It's been restarted several times since the issue arose.

Oh, and remember that you must restart Autocad once for every dirty word you called it.  You have to cancel out the karma you built up before Autocad will respond to you again.   :-D

I was just able to replicate this issue.

Changing the value of DTEXTED seemed to allay it.
