Not that exact one, but we have a Canon IPF700 that has been working pretty well.  It's roughly four times faster than our old HP DesignJet800.  It sometimes puts a big smear of ink on the back of the page for some unknown reason, but that happens rarely, and isn't very noticeable on normal paper.  It ruined one of our mylar prints once, though.  And it takes a while to do the first plot of the day, because it wants to "agitate" the ink if the printer has been idle for a while.  And it sounds a bit like a muffled jet engine.  But all in all, we've been quite happy with it.  It is a significant improvement over the HP DJ800.

There was one weird quirk that required us to have two different PC3 files, one for 24x36 plots and a slightly-different one for all other plots.  This seems to have been an Autodesk issue, though, because it was fixed when we installed 2008.  Evidently, it has something to do with the stuff in the Autodesk Shared directory, because installing 2008 also fixed the problem in 2007.

Thanks for the feedback

Looks like we will be happy with this machine then.

We are replacing a HP Plotter 1050c
