Assemblies

Why can't I snap to the neat little circles on the assembly to dimension a road cross section to include in construction plans?  Is there another way to get this information across?  Do I have to copy & explode the assembly?
Just wondering what others do?

Thanks

That is true & thank you but there are a lot of other points that would be handy to snap dimensions on.

then the real method you want to use...

Create a sample line group.  Sample your best 'typical' section station.
Create that Single section view. You can hatch, or shade it using code set, or just basic cad.  The lines in this section are all snap-able and thus dimensioning is easy, as well as creating a nice hatched section straight from the corridor model.  Save a view around this section, such that it is easy to locate on the page when one creates the mview for this section to display in.
