Ok...We are definately gonna get ADT 2005.  I know that comes with Viz Render, and from what I'm getting from some of you is it's crap.  Now...we have 3DS MAX 6...is VIZ 2005 a combination of 3DS MAX AND VIZ RENDER???  I'm trying to get this straight in my head.  I'm gonna call AutoDesk and talk to someone, but I like asking all of you

MAX is the Father program. VIZ is like the son: most things are there, some are missing, namely full kinematic animation and some material applying features. Then comes VIZ render. I'd say it's the autistic grandson. All it's good for is material and rendering. No lights, no motorcars, not a single luxury.

Also, I still haven't gotten to your drawing. Haven't found the time. I'm hoping I can take a look at it this weekend.

OK...in case anyone is wondering, I got a fully functional demo CD of both ADT 2005 & VIZ 2005.  I took that model that I made with ADT 3.3 and opened it in ADT 2005.  Then I saved it to update it to 2005.  I then opened VIZ 2005 and selected "Import" from the file menu and changed the type to "DWG" and VIOLA!  Everything works the exact way it should.  Materials attached and showed up perfectly.  Each component of a door, wall, window, whatever, was able to have a material attached to it, seperate from the rest of the parts.  Awesome :dood: Now is time to order!

I assume you looked at VIZ Render and compared it to VIZ? Am I right about VR? Does it still suck?
