DWG TrueView question?
« on: July 05, 2007, 02:21:01 PM »
For our dwgs with schedules, we always do the schedules in MS Word, then paste them into our CAD title blocks.

When we modify an existing system, our engineer typically pulls up our dwg with Autodesk's DWG TrueView, right clicks on the embedded MS Word doc, and can modify it then save the MS Word doc portion to another MS Word doc for me to replace later.

We have recently hired someone new that created some of these dwgs with docs pasted into them & he appears to be doing everything the same as I showed him how to do it. But, on a couple of the dwgs, our engineer cannot open the embedded MS Word with his DWG TrueView software.

From within AutoCad, I looked at the properties of the embedded doc and nothing stands out that would cause this.

Do any of you know what may be causing the problem?

Thanks in advance,
craigr

(1) Apply this patch only if the installation includes AutoCAD Mechanical 2007 or Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2007.

We are only on 2005 LT.

Thanks anyway,
