DB with DB leader?
« on: May 22, 2007, 11:50:05 AM »
Is it possible to have a DB with a leader attached that would only show up if the DB was moved a certain distance away from the insertion point?  Similar to spot elevations in Land Desktop?

Not with OOTB functions, but you could probably get a reactor to trigger a visibilty state. Don't ask me how, but from the stuff going on at the Autodesk newsgroups, I think it'd be possible.

I think Tlindell would be a good bet to talk to. It sounds like this is up his ally. Eg, when distance > make block objects 14,15,16 visible

I'd like to know if you get something working or if I could help.  I can see some uses for this in our office.

Don't have the La La Land Desktop but are you referring to what the QLEADER command does, when you start the leader and the length is less than the arrowhead, and is not drawn after the leader (leg) is greater than the arrowhead size? or I am doing my stuff in another tree?

That's very nice of you to say, and if the situation was right where I could do such a thing, Dynblocks would be a very fun one to do.  Truthfully, I think it is much more informative to try working on the real world situations and meeting the challenge of solving it.  Forums like this are excellent collabrative environments for advanced DB learning.  If anything, DB's need to become more advanced:)
