DB connect, when adding a new column
« on: March 30, 2007, 05:04:19 PM »
Okay so here is the issue.  We have out sites administration buildings laid out with cubical numbers.  We have a database that holds the cub numbers with the employee's name, and other information.  The IT guy whats to add a column for the data jack numbers, sounds fine with me.  So we add the column next to the cub number since these two items will never really change.  But by adding a column there it kind of throws off the connection between the database and Acad.  So we moved it to the end, which works, and the IT guys is cool with it, but I was wondering why this happens?  Has anyone used db connect and had an experience like this?  I haven't found an answer in the help yet, so I'm posting here as I continue to look.

Thanks in advance.

If it matters, old database set up.

Nevermind.  :-D

It seems I just had to be out of the drawing when making the changes to the database.  All is good again, thanks for listening.  We no return you to you regularly scheduled Friday program.
