Table Text Formatting
« on: February 14, 2007, 07:51:22 PM »
I am having a bit of trouble using tables with 2007. I first set my table style correctly and then in some cases I have to make an override to certain individual cells.  I am trying to remove all overrides to my table but my Text Formatting stays the same. If I change the font name within a cell rather than the style, I can't remove the override. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? This certainly applies to the importing of an .xls table into cad. The font style from XL acts as an override for a table in CAD when it has been import as a special autocad entity. Im considering to  explode tables and re-convert them into the correct table. which will take forever because i have about 20 tables with each about 25 cells in each.

btw..havent been on here in a while Just wanted to say hi to everybody.

I am not seeing this. If I set my excel sheet to say arial and my table style to say romans and a copy certain cells from excel and "paste special -> autocad entities" the table style overrides the excel style.

as for the other stuff ... I'm still looking.

The only way to remove the formatting is through PROPERTIES, one at a time.
and that was what i had to do.
first, exploded the table
second, use my lisp routine "TextToTable.lsp" in 2006
and that was my work around. it made all the table cells normal. one thing i learned is to not change the font type but rather create fontstyle with a font type. changing the font type will set an override that you cant override. it may be good practice to keep the font style consistent with the font type. am i making any sense.?

Its important to format the cells accordingly before importing to cad.
