( C3D ) Point edit in vista [ Panorama ]
« on: October 18, 2006, 10:14:54 AM »
I'm assuming there is no tab control or key sequence when editing points in the above said vista. For instance, I select 4 points in my dwg, right click -> "Edit Points ...". This will open the Panorama vista, if I *click* on say the "Raw Description" field of a point, edit, then without *clicking* on another field move the focus to another point (  row ). I've tried several combinations none of which work.

I saw this title thread, and I though you were trying to run Civil-3D in a beta of Microsoft's new OS (Windows Vista)...

I was thinking, "Boy, Mark is a REAL masochist..."   :-D

Nope, looks like the C3D design team has been bribed by the CarpalTunnelInstitute to make sure we use the mouse more than necessary.

Another thing I've noticed, when in the Propsector tree and I select the Points, the point table is shown at the bottom of the Toolspace but it ALWAYS scrolls all the way to the far right of the sheet. When I scroll over to edit any data, pressing Enter or Tab saves the change but then it scrolls to the far right again. Quite annoying....

I've seen this type of thing in many of those so-called vistas. It takes all the fun out of being a command line commando. :-)

edit point *click*
edit field < enter >
reach for mouse ...
edit point *click*
go back to keyboard
repeat until finished...

I guess there's always Export/Import!

Perhaps the programmer that coded the point vista is just used to working with one hand on the keyboard   ...

how's about dragging the columns around until they match your editing style?

not that it excuses the often frustrating 'non' windows functionality in a windows application
