send output to dynamic prompt

I've been using 2006 with the command line off. I would like to be able to have any lisp output be sent back to the dynamic prompt next to my cursor the same way it works for standard commands. Does anyone know of a variable or something like princ, prompt, prin1, etc. that will help me accomplish this?
