custom tools on custom palettes-help!
« on: May 10, 2005, 03:05:48 PM »
currently we use a custom toolbar with custom buttons to create lines of specified color/thickness/linetype on a drawing template with established layers-and have worked well for our uses
(we use it to designate color/paper on a paint plan for contractors)

they look like this
^C^C-LAYER;S;CP-PT-CH1_7;;^C^CPLINE;\W;3;3;

I have created a custom pallette with these custom tools -and they work great.

However.....
we also have two buttons:
w;0;3;
w;3;0;

and on the toolbar, you click one of these, then immediately the line you want and you basically get a line that you can point at things.

when I put this on the palette, I get the "write block" dialog box
Help
I think I know what is wrong, but don't know how it fix it.....
As Mr. Miagi says -a grape in the middle of the road gets squashed...

Don't you get the same result when calling one of the two latter buttons from the toolbar?

They seem to be designed to be issued in the midst of a PLINE command. If clicked in a non-command mode, they'll merely call the WBLOCK command.

yes you get the same result by clicking the latter buttons- but only if you had previously used the line you wanted. when you want to change -say from a red line to a black dash, you must select the 0-3 then select the black dash or it will revert to red (for example....)
