100 000? If the base file is a couple hundred KB then it looks like a lot; for someting a few dozen MB in size its not a significant gain. But in most cases the REGAPP count is limited to a few thousand.

Yup 100,000
... and the really bad thing is it's like a virus. Xref that bloated file into a "clean" file and the bloat is transferred to that drawing. Multiply that by thousands of files on the server and there is a lot of wasted space.
