Dynamic Zoom in 2008
« on: November 19, 2007, 09:46:06 AM »
I'm just making the switch from 2006 to 2008 and have run into a change.  I am used to doing a real time pan with the shift button held down to force the pan to orthogonal.  With 2008 this takes me into the orbit command, which is great for 3D work.  Does anyone know how to do an orthogonal dynamic pan in 2008?

Hold down the scroll wheel, then press shift. That way you trigger pan, then ortho.

...and that tip is not only for 2008.  I'm using 2002 right now and it works.  When did that one come out?

Thanks, Kate.  I've been using the shift with RTPan for some time, but in 2008 keep getting 3DOrbit.  I guess I just need to be more careful with my timing.
