hatching to a font or text
« on: July 28, 2004, 10:23:58 AM »
I have a dwg with hatching which is outlined with one lines and then hatching soild which looks like TEXT...

Is there a way to convert that to a font or text... let me know if you want to see the dwg.. its huge... 5mb...

i can not plot it to a plotter either... so i need a way to compress the size so i can plot, and tha is why i am wanting to know if this is possible.

Are you saving in 2004 format? I know 2004 has a compression built in.

I don't quit understand your question, e-mail me the drawings and I'll have a look.

BTW... We deal with drawings ranging up to 15mb and some with images that have plt near 30mb and have no trouble plotting (yes the plotter receives them very slowly, but they plot). We're using an HP 1050C with 512mb memory. What do you have that won't plot a 5mb file?

Also, do you have to have the hatch plot? If not you can always saveas and delete the hatch, plot then delete the saveas file. Just a thought.

OIC, that would explane the "not being able to plot" a 5 mb file.

Do you have to plot the hatch(es)?

The easiest way it can figure is to type it all by hand, but I may be going about this all wrong.
