Lost toolbar!
« on: January 17, 2006, 09:44:52 AM »
Once of our designers has lost his dimensioning toolbar. He seems pretty adamant that it has disappeared beyond the edges of the drawing area. I have tried turning off all of the toolbars and restarting. None of these helped. Any ideas?

Can't you go into the .ini file and reset the starting point of the dialog box?

I'd be more specific, but I am only going off remembering things I did when I worked on AutoCAD 4-5 years ago.  I know things have changed, but it's a shot.

Basically in something like acad.ini file there is a listing of all the toolbars.  It has numbers for the starting point of each toolbar so that you can move them and they show up there again next time you open autocad.  The trouble is I don't remember if it is the acad.ini file or something else.

Someone else will come along and give a better answer.

I also remember that there was a command you could type into your command line and it would turn on ALL the toolbars.  Once again, I'm blanking on the command.  Sorry.

Try changing the screen resolution to a larger size, and see if you can find it then
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

I just used the float option of "-toolbar".

DELETE the MNC file....
and RELOAD the MNS...

if it'S the ACAD.MNS.....
load the menu via the MENU command.

if it'S the yourmenu.MNS...
load the mns file via the MENULOAD command.

this will resolve your problem.

.. or in AC2006, the location and visibility can be edited from the editor ..

Andrea's solution may lose all customisation in AC2006 ..
kdub, kdub_nz in other timelines.

Seems like a bigger pain than just floating the toolbar into view. The issue we had was just that the toolbar had been pushed beyong the limits of the window.

I like the way you located the toolbar Barry. I have always edited the registry if I lose a toolbar .

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\VERSION\CurVer\Profiles\<<Unnamed Profile>>\Toolbars]

Windows 11 x64 - AutoCAD /C3D 2023

Custom Build PC

Radical solution maybe...but it work.

You can also delete the profile and restart AutoCAD with the /p switch and redirect the good ARG file if you have one.
or copy an existing ARG file from one of your workmate and reload-it but need to erase the profile in your AutoCAD with the options or config command.
