2005 problems
« on: September 21, 2004, 07:22:12 AM »
Hello, i have not been to happy with 2005 as:

1. cannot snap to hatch patterns
2. Layer manager keeps causing errors when right clicking shortcut menu, therfore not being able to create new layer or use any of the commands thus having to restart 2005.
3. Print perameters seem to be different as i use Jaws pdf converter which works fine in 2004 has problems with 2005 i.e cuts of the paper edge.

I have tried reinstalling, running just 1 version of CAD on machine seems like ive tried most avenues and curious to find if anyone else is having similar problems.

1. Adjust the new system variable OSNAPHATCH
2. That's good to know. Haven't personally seen it so I'm gonna try to provoke that crash
3. Wouldn't know. Have you checked for a driver update?

By the way, there are some 20+ new system variables for 2005. You can go here and download a sysvar tool to look them up. Grab all three files (.lsp, .dcl and .txt) and place them together in a search path.

Once in the dialog (command is SYSVARS), type "2005" in the search field, choose "Keywords" in the search popup and hit the search button to get a list of new variables.

SMadsen,

Thankyou the osnaphatch was switched off, (not aware of new sysvar) and Autodesk have just released a SP1 for 2005 which so far has solved all my problems and nicnaks with 2005.

many thanks

Now, if they follow the pattern they exhibited with 2004, they'll release one more patch to fix the problems created by that patch, then leave you to suffer on your own, because they'll be selling 2006 (with new and improved bugs) by then and you shoulda bought a subscription...
