I doubt this has anything to do with it but you recently went in and manipulated viewports because of dimension scales in your other thread. There are plotting settings associated with viewports and in the layer manager, depending on how you did things ...in case you weren't aware...?
I wasn't aware that Plotting settings save 'automatically'. In my routines, I always select 'no' when it asks if I want to save them.
