End area table woes in LDT (w/Civil)
« on: June 20, 2008, 11:11:36 AM »
For some reason when I Cross Sections -> Total Volume Output -> Volume Table I get a table full of '0's, no data. I must be missing a step somewhere along the line but I don't see it and the documentation isn't helping. I have two surfaces, one alignment, sample sections, etc..

Any help would be wonderful right now! :)

thanks

Did a little searching ... I'm not alone with this problem.

Still no love! I get nothing!

This is Land?

Have you created your site and your strata? Do you have multiple surfaces toggled on and selected?

You've created a Template, set the design control and processed the sections? It's been a while since I've used LDT sections, but I know you need to do these 3 things before you can get the volumes from the sections.

Now, if you want sections through the site, then you need to use the Section Volumes under the Terrain menu.....

Just use section vulomes under terrain for that, the other way is for roadway section (Template surface) volumes.

See the second part of my post.....there are 2 completely different types of sections that can be used for Volumes. One is basic Site sections that uses 2 surfaces, the other is based on alignment X-Sections and requires a road template, etc.

It sounds like you want the Site Sections under the Terrain menu.

I think I've got what I need now. I did Cross Sections -> Surface Volume Output -> Existing Ground and it appears to do what I need, no fancy table but I can make one of those.

I didn't want to use site sections because I've got a list of sections i must do the calcs on.

if you erase your cross sections for some reason, it will give you all zeros.

I may be wrong but I thought you could run the OOTB null template & get the sections & table.
