Metric to Imperial template
« on: May 30, 2008, 06:17:02 PM »
We have a metric template with a bunch of styles that mostly seem to be working OK...and now we have a job that we have to do in feet.  Any quick way to convert our template to different units?  Or would we be better off starting fresh from acad.dwt?

I tried just changing the settings at the drawing level, but keep finding things that are being labeled in meters.

Sadly Kathy, you will need to either A) create your entire Template over in FEET, or B) change the units display of all values in your style that use units to feet.  Wait that is nearly the same as A. Take your Pick

The other option would be to apply expressions to all collections to do the units conversion math.

That is just another version of A, also.

Let me see if something else pops into my head.

This probably one of the lamest parts of C3D, you set your ambient settings, yet those values do NOT apply to your label styles.

You set your units and zone, and this does NOT apply to your Ambient Settings or Label Styles.

So instead of a single place to toggle ones units, there are hundreds. Brillant!
