Given what I've seen to date, good luck with the last three!

AutoDesk as a company is insanely bloated. It's not entirely their fault but they just keep on purchasing companies  :idiot2:

Awesome news!

For their share holders...

for the rest of us; well those things that don't work, or don't work well....they're going to take a little bit longer to not get fixed.  OK.

CEO Andrew Anagnost says "we put a lot of effort into helping them get to the next job - and some will end up in the new roles we open in the company"

And "We’ll hire at least as many back."

Yeah, he sais that now....

However no way to hold him to account nor verify his claim(s).

Glad I don't drink the cool aide.

I wouldn't like to live inside your head Michael ... the negativity must be depressing.

Actually, I'm a very cheerful guy.

But I'm also a realist...I've been around long enough to know fertilizer from B.S.

I don't see the facts that I posted as being negative...they are from a profit/earnings standpoint; but the facts are what they are.
Sugarcoating them doesn't change them.

But thanks for your concerns.

I follow a ton of peeps who are just basically paid to blog about the software and travel, but as long as youtube is around and allows anyone and everyone to post stuff on their software, it seems their will always reliable and applicable content from users working with the software in actual production... I find myself wondering how many thousands of dollars in mediocre blog posts and travel photos companies like mine are being manhandled to pay for through subscriptions

Then I wonder, will companies ever bring down the ban hammer on sites like youtube, or will they continue to promote the democratization of their software (which I prefer)...only time will tell

ummmm.... exactly what "ban hammer" might that be??  There is little or nothing that can be done about review material or even educational material.

Sharing sites are getting more aggressive on reports of IP violations, to the point where it's getting abused (e.g. reports of people claiming rights-infringement on music tracks, although they have zero basis to it).  If there was a review with completely false, inflammatory information I could certainly see Autodesk looking into issuing a take-down notice.  Just like any other company, they cannot afford to sit around and ignore certain things.

and I'm fairly sure that aspect was not the target of Mr. Area51's "ban hammer" comment, at least it doesn't appear so.

There's a ton that can be done. Question is do they care, will they, or will there ever be a reason to.  Right now the entire world is on board with sharing everything about everything....since that's never been done before, we don't know the consequences.  Will every pirate on the planet sharing how they are exploiting hacked Autodesk software force wages down or bring users up (better talent, better ability)? Time will tell.
