Title: Can anyone dummy down Forge concept for me?
Post by: nobody on October 27, 2017, 04:37:21 AM
I've been trying to figure out what Autodesk is doing with Forge since it came out (https://forge-rcdb.autodesk.io/configurator).  As far as that it gives developers a really complicated way to create their own personalized version of Sketchfab for 3d data...since that is all that I've seen demonstrated.  What am I missing?

It seem to me Forge is the youngest platform from scratch. Development in house and the thing which ultimately ties all products to Autodesk web domains. I didn't spot any dwg 2 initiatives yet. Focus is merely on the (code)developers, not designers.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

These might do a better job: https://forge.autodesk.com/ and https://forge.autodesk.com/customers and https://forge.autodesk.com/FAQ

We've been looking at it and testing with it. To bring an interactive 3D model to the field. With data going both ways using Revit parameters.
