Title: Oce Print Driver on Server & Group Policies
Post by: BazzaCAD on August 02, 2017, 05:02:54 PM
Has anyone had success setting up the latest Oce Print drivers on a Windows Print Server & deployed it via Group Policies?
We have an Oce PlotWave 450.
I've downloaded the latest drivers from Oce here:
http://downloads.oce.com/ProductDownloads/Index/554
WPD2, version 2.14

I've tried installing the drivers on both a Windows Server 2008 R2 & Windows Server 2012 R2, and can't connect to either of them.
I keep getting Group Policy errors, but I think those are incorrect error messages.

From all the research I've been doing, it looks like Windows will only allow print drivers that are digitally signed & package aware to be installed.
If you have a look at the screen shots below, you can see when the drivers are installed on Windows 7, they show up as being package aware, but on Win. Server 2008 & 2012, they are not.

Also, the reason I'm pretty sure this isn't a Group Policy issue is I have Canon MFP drivers also setup on this same Server & they deploy via Group Policies just fine.
Funny since Canon owns Oce. Also, the Canon drivers do show up as being package aware.

Just curious if other have come across this issue & how they solved it?
