Title: Imperial Cad drawings
Post by: kdub_nz on May 05, 2017, 03:36:00 AM
In the U.S.
for Structural ShopDetail drawings
and for platework ShopDetail drawings

What do you guys use for UNITS
Decimal or Engineering ?

How do you define Dimensions
Decimal or Stacked fractions ?

I have a copy of your AISC 'Structural Steel Detailing Manual' from the early 80's but a lot has changed since then.

Can I assume you use lbs for material list mass ?

I hope this is not too much of an 'it depends'  answer, but I can live with that if I have an idea what it depends upon.
Regards,

I'm pretty sure the answer for most would be Architectural with stacked fractions.

Thanks Rob.

I was raised on Imperial "Weights and Measures" until the late 60's - early 70's
... so my brain shouldn't get too twisted

I'll try to get some sample drawings ...
