Title: Tool Palette Buttons Performing Calcs?
Post by: MSTG007 on March 14, 2017, 04:37:50 PM
This was just another once of those off the wall questions I come up with. Within the tool palette customized buttons. Could I program a button to use excel functions? Sometimes, it would be nice to click a preconfigured button to get a value that you are looking for, opposed to going to excel, using that or browsing for the excel file that has the equations you want to use already in them.

Thanks for any pointers or examples!

I'm not all that well versed in Palettes, but you should be able to run a lisp program with one, which can be programmed to calculate something.

You can also store your own functions in the QUICKCALC calculator. For info on how to write functions, see the CAL command reference (http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2016/ENU/?guid=GUID-B93BD7BF-B69D-40D4-968E-1EB60F90D93E).
