Title: Autocad - Constraining Point to a line - SOLVED
Post by: Matthew H on February 21, 2017, 11:36:50 AM
I am trying to recreate the below sketch using Autodesk AutoCAD's Geometric constraints.

I have been able to recreate it using Autodesk Inventor without any problems.

Though in AutoCAD I can not constrain a point to a line.

If anyone has any ideas or solutions, it would be much appreciated.
I have attached the Inventor file, as well as the AutoCAD file.

Thank you for your time,
Matthew H.

I exported the already constrained Inventor sketch into AutoCAD and started constraining it in AutoCAD to the same point I was previously.
This time I told it to auto constrain. AutoCAD appears to have solved it.
I am not sure how it was able to make the "Point on a line" constraint.
I have attached the file to this post.

Thank you,
Matthew H.

I have figured it out.
When you click on coincident constraint you have to read the command line and then click "Object" coincident constraint.

Thanks,
