Title: Civil 3D Import Aerial from .LYR?
Post by: BlackBox on January 30, 2017, 09:14:27 AM
I usually check the County website once a year to download their inventory of .TIF or .ECW aerial imagery... Now the County only provides .LYR

I downloaded and installed ArcGIS Explorer so I could view the imagery, but have absolutely no idea how to (or even if I can, as the app name might suggest) 'export' the imagery I need for use in Civil 3D + InfraWorks?

ArcGIS Explorer seems to only be able to 'Share' .NMC (Map Content File).

TIA

The *.lyr only contain the symbology and path for the shape file. You will needs ArcGIS to load the  *.lyr file.

ArcGIS gis explorer is not going to be of any help either.

You will need the *.ecw or *.tiff file.

Post a link to the *.lyr file.

Maybe download the demo of ArcGIS?
