Here's one question that's been puzzling me.... In Prospector, Suface Defintion, expanding Breaklines, and then right-clicking on a breakline set name, one of the options is 'Insert Breaklines to Drawing'. WTF is that supposed to do? If the breaklines have been erased from the drawing with the surface, then the surface is out of date and has to be rebuilt.
All I've ever gotten if I try that oiption, is a notice that No Breaklines were inserted. So just waht is that supposed to do, and when should/can it be used?

That particular function never has functioned.
However what it is or what it was supposed to do dates back to land desktop.
In that setting, the surfaces were not dynamic, however if one needed to alter a breakline, one could first
insert the breakline to the drawing, then delete the breakline from the surface. Edit the previously inserted breakline elevations or slope;
and then add it back into the surface.
There are timesi, once just last week, that it sure would be nice IF that tool did work. However I doubt it will ever be fixed so that it does work.
This If the breaklines have been erased from the drawing with the surface
, is not entirely true if one has the setting
"Copy deleted dependant objects" turn on.

OK, that makes typical C3D sense , bring over an option from LDT, but never actually implement it.
Of interest is that the breakline properties are still in the drawing surface definition, even though the breaklines themselves are not. I suppose I _could_ re-enter them.. all 1,542 breaklines with 71,797 vertices.
Description Easting (X) Northing (Y) Elevation (Z)
Breakline set6:1
1 938051.8879 531076.1537 8.15
2 938051.7697 531077.1848 8.07

ftfy
Actually one could get them from the surface.xml file after exporting the surface to landXML just look for the breakline section...and script them in.
ETA
Or edit the xml file severely and see if it would bring in only the breaklines, I've not tried that. However I have edit the xml to get the point data from a few surfaces.
