Title: Mechanical Design aids
Post by: vegbruiser on April 16, 2009, 09:04:43 AM
Hi folks,
Since I last posted we've managed to get another project using Inventor and I was wondering if any of you guys use any low-tech solutions to aid in building mechanisms etc.

The reason I ask is that after reading an article about Bang & Olufsen (http://develop3d.com/) and how they build prototypes using Lego I hit upon the idea of using a set (or sets) to aid us with our latest project which we've had a really hard time visualising.  The mechanism we've been asked to produce (which is based on this (http://www.bochem.com/en/Laboratory_Products-p13--a123-Lab%252dJacks,+1810+stainless+steel.html)) would be easily recreated using Lego (I think)

Does anybody else use Lego in this way? (or am I just using it as an excuse to play with Lego and call it my job? ;) )
