Title: 3d solid model problem
Post by: Martin-Y on June 21, 2004, 10:34:05 AM
I am struggling to make this shape in ADT3.3

Two triangles 4,5,6 over 1,2,3 one above the other except the apex

Point 1 = 0.0000,0.0000,0.0000

Point 2 = 2500.0000,915.0000,0.0000

Point 3 = 5000.0000,0.0000,0.0000

Point 4 = 1500.0000,0.0000,3850.0000

Point 5 = 2500.0000,1415.0000,3850.0000

Point 6 = 3500.0000,0.0000,3850.0000

Points 1 & 4 connect
Points 2 & 5 connect
Points 3 & 6 connect

side 1,2 5 4 is non planar
side 2,3,6 5 is non planar

Transition needs to be smooth not triangulated.

I need this as a 3d solid, can it be done in ADT3.3, if not what upgrade path would you suggest bearing in mind I need Autocad for other add-ons.

If you can draw those triangles in autocad, you can convert them into a massing element for ADT. Either way works.

Thanks for reply Daron but it doesn't seem possible to have different heights for the triangle, the grips are in the centre not at each apex.
