This seems to bear repeating.
If you've got the Google Earth Extension loaded into Civil 3D and you install SP2, you WILL GET ERRORS. Now, before you start whining and complaining about how bad Autodesk sucks, uninstall the GE Extension and get on with life.
I mean, c'mon. Who's REALLY using GE right now, and will the continued functionality of that overrule the functionality of SP2?

Amazing . . . a service pack that appears to fix well over 50 issues and people are complaining about losing their Google Earth . . .
-
As my grandfather used to say "Some people would complain if you ran over then with a brand new Cadillac" :lmao:

Well I have but one question, who wrote the Google Earth Extension?
-
You might be REALLY surprised if you knew the answer to that one ;-)

After downloading the extension and peeling open the msi file using ORCA from msft. It looks like the download version is still 1.0. So it appears that for now version 2.0 isnt available yet, hence why 1.0 causes all the problems.

Interesting! [ Autodesk® Civil 3D® 2007 Extension for Google Earth™ ] (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=7294687&siteID=123112&linkID=3549304). If I payed $7495 for a piece of software I would expect the SP2 to install correctly.

From [ Readme for the Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 Service Pack 2 ] (http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/autodesk_civil_3d_2007_service_pack_2_readme.htm).
Important: Version 1 of the Google Earth Extension is only compatible with Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 and Service Pack 1 or 1A and will be disabled after you install Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 Service Pack 2. In order to use the Google Earth Extension, after installing Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 Service Pack 2, you must download and install Release 2 of Google Earth Extension.
