Title: 2007 to -2006
Post by: daron on July 11, 2006, 02:02:00 PM
Does anyone know if a drawing from 2007ADT saved back to the 2004 file format creates proxy objects? I have a drawing that looks as though it has walls and such, but only show in 2d when viewed from the side. Also, there are no grips. I'm just curious if this drawing was drawn in ADT or revit or what have you.

Thanks

A drawing from XXXXADT will have proxies when opened in vanilla.

You might check your GRIPS and GRIPOBJLIMIT variables.

I am not positive about ADT, but the comparable Civil vertical apps do EXPORT to 2004 dwgs with proxy objects.

But do you have grips or any ability to snap to even nearest of one of these annoying objects. I'm using ADT2006 and this is coming from 2007 ?ADT? not sure, but it looks like it. Bob those variables don't seem to help when it comes to osnaps or proxies.

With Civil 3D, which is quite similar to Revit, even the 3d objects in their native, non proxy state do not react normally with most osnaps or grips, a VERY disturbing property.
