Title: Installing ADT

Is ADT installed as a stand alone, or does it need to be installed over regular AutoCAD?

8) ADT is AutoCAD with architechtural addons, so no you don't need to install autocad as it is included in the ADT installation.

And you can use ADT as you would autocad.
