I tried to look for it here @ theswamp but am unable to locate the post......

I need a lisp that would allow me to select a body of text and it would copy it to the clipboard.....

Not with autolisp you ain't. :D

Maybe store the text in a global variable for later use.

Using the DOSLIB function (dos_clipboard string) a little bit of hand rolled LISP you could have a little utility that does precisely what you want. Sorry, no time right now. By the time I get at this tonight CAB will have written 3 versions. :D
