Okay, I have listed what I found on Autodesk's website for their products, and listed programs I know other users use. If I have not listed one you use please let me know within this thread or you can pm me if you like.
This is for information use only. :-)
Thanks for participating.

Currently, or "have used"? If you're looking for "have used", then ProE is missing.
-
This is going to be interesting.
Could you please add Drawbase. This one I am really curious about.

I knew there was at least one more I knew, but couldn't think of it. Thanks I will add it.

Sure.

Before I vote, I also use Geopak and Power Civil
(Bentley apps)

IMO, I think this should be two separate polls. If it was lump together then the data would skew the results.
Would not want to wake up the dead guy?

Whoops did I post that out loud?
** quickly scurries from thread **

I agree they should be broken up.
Better to see what people are currently using.
-
Thanks for including me. :-)
You forgot Etch-a-sketch
-
Man.. I feel so... SIMPLE... posting only Autocad Vanilla lol

... and Sketch-Up

before someone starts a rant, you may want to preemptively add Rhino

But you've already posted in this thread...
-
How about if we say something like
Currently use or have a good working knowledge of.
Would that work in the first post?
I will add Sketch-Up and Rhino now. Thanks.
-
Ahh Tim,
when you get a second, could make the poll editable so I can go back and select Drawbase. Thanks
Or just check it for me. Thanks.
-
You forgot Etch-a-sketch
you can do this with that state-of-the-art technology... (will be removed later....) :)

I thought I did. It doesn't look like I can now, unless I'm missing something. If I can't change it, can an Admin do it for me? Thanks. And if I can change it, how? Thanks also. :-)

You do nice work on an Etch-a-sketch there Luis! :lmao:

The best I could do for you was to allow anyone to remove their poll selection. Then you can reselect.

Thanks Daron. I saw the check box to allow to change the vote, and I thought I checked it, but at least there is a work around now.
Edit: Daron,
It seems I spoke too soon. You updated it, and I saw the option to remove vote, but once I changed the title of the poll (I bet it would happen if I added another program also) it took away that option. I guess there is something wrong within the program code that it doesn't know to keep that setting. So if you could add it back again it would be awesome. Thanks.

2 things...
1. Is it going to get fixed so we can change our votes?
2. Who is the other person with DataCAD knowledge?

Yes I know that Josh, but I was under the impression someone else could add that option back in.

Can you add BlockCAD (http://web.telia.com/~u16122508/proglego.htm) to the list?? :-D

I just hadn't noticed it got changed. Last I checked I could remove my vote. Spoke to soon.

Thanks Matt! I didn't know about that. My son will love it.

We've been using blockcad for seven years now....engineers haven't noticed a thing! LOL
I "voted" Vanilla and Mechanical (not "Desktop")
-
Please Put I-Deas NX Even thought it will become Unigraphics nx in the future.
Have some experience Pro-E Solidworks Autocad Vanilla Autocad LT And Unigraphics.
-
I choose not to put any AutoCAD products because I've been away from it for so long now.
-
Huh...No IntelliCAD?
-
Huh...No IntelliCAD?
or TurboCAD... but I don't know that it'd get votes
-

True, but I was going off hearing people mention it rather often as alternative cads. When I've heard people mention TurboCAD it's to get a file converted.
-
I would love to add the other options, but then no one could remove/re-vote. Maybe I will update it once per day, at the end of the day, but then an admin would have to re-put in the option to remove the vote.
Any Admin let me know how you want me to do this. Thanks.
-
So we have TWO SoftPlan'ers? jinkies!
Anyways... some interesting results. I was not aware Autocad was -so- dominant, or at least, I guess, that there were so few of 'the rest' but then again, maybe most, like me, are just knowledgeable from experience (though I only voted Autocad vanilla since I've plum forgot most the stuff from the rest of programs I knew) at other jobs or times..
-
What about lowly Smartsketch users?
:)

I can reset all vote counts to 0 if that will help.

No thank you. It will not keep the "remove vote" option per person if I change the poll in any way (title, or add options). So I will just change it later today, when I'm off work, and ask an admin to apply the option again. Not sure why it doesn't keep that option.
-
So we have TWO SoftPlan'ers? jinkies!
My last job was with SoftPlan and I'm sure within a couple of hours I could be back up to speed. That is why I voted SoftPlan as well.
-
Huh...No IntelliCAD?
Briscad is an IntelliCAD.
-
New options have been added. Can an admin please allow people to remove votes so they could add other programs to their choice. Thanks.
-
I think it has been done :-)
-
Interesting results.. I'm surprised how few use Microstation... and also surprised how much variety there is.
-
AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
-
AutoCAD Vanilla
SolidWorks (working knowledge)
SolidEdge
(meh, dont bother adding that one) :x
-
yea I figured it wouldn't be worth adding CADKey either :-P even if I had used it in the past 3 years.
-
If it's worth it I will add it at the end of the day. No problem on my part.
I forgot about SolidEdge, and I never knew about CADKey
-
where's cadra?
-

CADKey is extinct last I heard... I only knew of a couple machining job shops that used it, and they switched to Solidworks years ago anyways.
-

I can add that. It looks like a real program that people might use.

Can you add BlockCAD (http://web.telia.com/~u16122508/proglego.htm) to the list?? :-D
I just sent this email out to the bosses and a the rest of the company.
Request for new CAD program
With the benefits of building in 3D to increase productivity and efficiency, as well as reducing change orders and possibility for errors, I thought maybe we should look into using this new program I was introduced to. I looked into it, and it seems very good. It uses standard blocks for all building members, so there is no creation of basic shapes at all needed. If there is a shape, the program has a block for it that you can simply click and drop into place. It requires only the most simple of skills that any child could do, really.
This is definitely something worth looking at. On top of it all… it’s free!
http://web.telia.com/~u16122508/proglego.htm
Here is a page showing some of the better models this program can handle: http://web.telia.com/~u16122952/building/index.htm
The first response was one boss walking into my office "Is that lego *&$% something you would actually use... because let me know, so I can start searching for your replacement soon" :-D
The second response later on was the president shouting from his office "Josh, what's that Lego blockcad bull*#$%? It's actually pretty neat, did you download it yet?"
:lmao:
-

it's pretty good at starting one to thinking about a computer catapult... but yeah, we have it (and i'm happy to tell people when asked, "no, i can't help i can barely open it")

Yeah, because ALL of us has a military background.
There's a horde of military abbreviations that are commonplace with nonmilitary. I think a lot of the ones the tech industry use came from military... snafu.. fubar..

{Shaking head} I think you're confused -- you're supposed to be trying to make me look dumb.
-
Michael,
Since you are in here right now, can you change the poll so people can remove their vote. There is something wrong in the program that when I change the poll to add anything, that option goes away. Thanks. :-)

As you wish. :)

Yes, and for the love of Pete, put some pants on man.
:-P
-
MP, dude... whatever they are... get back on those meds you were talking about.
btw.
I use Autocad vanilla 2008
I've used Inventor to proficiency, but am too rusty for most stuff these days. I've used Solidworks to competency but am definitely too rusty for it these days. I've used CADKey enough to know I hate it. I have used Mastercam, Surfcam, and Featurecam all to the point of proficiency, but am very rusty. Very rusty.
Sometimes I wish I was back with Inventor... I liked it more than Autocad, but Autocad is so.... second nature... to me.
I only voted for Autocad vanilla.

You're still smarting from that time the gerbil pointed and laughed aren't you?
I'm sorry if I've been insensitive to your issues.

Wow... I never knew. Someone who used to use CAD Key once told me he still worked using the last version they released, though they went out of business. I guess he either misheard, or someone bought up their property and went forward with it.
What I remember about CADKey, I didn't like mainly because I was already in the thinking of how Autocad works, and though I could use CAD Key, it seemed so backwards how you drew stuff, I didn't like it. It was simple stuff, like specifying the diameter of the circle, THEN the location or something like that... even lines were confusing to a habitual Autocad user, but it's been quite a while. Luckily I only used it for basic 2d drawings so I could do my CAM pathing in a CAM software. That was before learning the CAM packages as well as I did though.

Written
What's the rule to this?
It's a tense thing. "write" is used for the simple present tense - "I write", "you write", etc.
"wrote" is the simple past tense - "I wrote", "you wrote", etc.
"written" is used mainly in the perfect tenses. "Perfect" means that it indicates an action that has reached its conclusion, and the related "perfect progressive" means the action is still going on. But each of these has three different variants, depending on whether we are talking about something in the past, the present, or the future:
Past Perfect: "I had written"
Past Perfect Progressive: "I had been writing"
Present Perfect: "I have written"
Present Perfect Progressive: "I have been writing"
Future Perfect: "I will have written"
Future Perfect Progressive: "I will have been writing"
-
heh.
around here it's just all "writ"
"excuse me while I get this proposal writ up."
(I'm not from around here) :|

Ah! Well then I was correct with wrote, because none of my actions ever reach a conclusion.
