Overlapping Profile View Labels
« on: November 20, 2008, 03:02:30 PM »
I'm trying to figure out how to keep my profile view labels from overlapping at the beginning and end of the profile view. My station label overlaps with the elevation label at the top, beginning and end of the profile view.

you mean the start and end labels that you can NOT turn off no matter what you do???

those?

The OFFICIAL work around

Make your alignments longer than they need to be, then create the profile view shorter than that...

Actually, I can turn them off (all of the station labels on the top) and I did. I didn't think there was a way to suppress only the first and last labels, but wanted to confirm.

How about post a picture of exactly you want to not have.  Just so we don't confuse those that don't know like we do.  ;-)

I should have shortened the profile first. That's one tall image...

Ah that's a little better. Not quite what I was looking to achieve, but it will suffice.

I would suggest changing the band offset....so they are higher or lower than the elevations, or chage the offset for the elevation text.

I was thinking of that (even though it might look a little weird having it offset higher), but then the engineer saw it and said just turn them off as he doesn't like stationing on top. That made it easy. :-)

Cool there; only in the future can we call it a Band Set, so we know what 'labels' we are talking about.  :lmao: ;-)

Another issue I'm having is when I run sheets with the plan production tools the profile views it is creating do not follow the established rules of the profile view style and it also appears to be doubling up the grid for some reason. I haven't played with the plan production tools much so I may be doing something wrong, but cannot figure it out. Surely it's something simple I'm not thinking of or just overlooking it maybe...

Let me know if I'm understanding this correctly...

I will create two different profile view styles for my split profiles. One will be for the First Split View Style and won't show data on the right side. The other would be for Last Split View Style and won't show data on the left side. This way they would blend together making the split line at the right and left edges respectively.

Correct?
