Drawing file increases when saved....even when nothing is done
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:57:38 PM »
So i have these files and every time I open and close the file even when nothing is done to them they increase in file size by a ton...i means some even as much as 10mb!

Anyone have any thoughts as to why???

I am using ACAD E10, no addons.

Even after purging everything the file size goes up....

I was thinking maybe the educational version, but yeah, electrical makes more sense.

I don't even recall an 'electrical' product around the Version 10 release?
If I recall they had ACAD, ACAD LT, and Softdesk, back that far.

Actually r10 used DCA (I still have a backup set of 5 1/4 360k floppies for DCA used with r10)  I think Softdesk came into play with r12.

i think it has something to do with these drawings being created in Civil 2010..i don't see any reason why these files should be so large...I even tried to copy and paste only the information i needed off them to a new drawing but they are still 20-40mb a piece...

so did they perform a(n) Export To Autocad....
OR
did they send the C3D file with all those STYLES in it?
