Is there a way to renumber view frames? I have a drawing with 38 of them and i would like to renumber them to match the sheets they are associated with.
thanks

Rename, yes. Renumber, no.

one could just recreate the view frames....and set the naming/number to match what is desired.

But how would that affect my sheets?

unless one regenerate the sheets, NOTHING would happen to your existing sheets

Except you'd lose matchline stationings, links to sheets, etc. Ya know, I'm not seeing that you can specify the numbering of the VF's anyway. Yes, it has a counter for the Name, but they always get numbered with the lowest available (usually 1), as far as I can tell.

I've never been able to use View Frames... Requires an Alignment (no grid setup for subdivisions?), so I end up just using Fields with SSM sheet numbers for match lines. *shrugs*

One can use view frames for subdivisions..invisible alignments 'squared' to your desired sheet order
and you do not need profile frames, just plan frames it's not that hard to do.
