point style not with text.
« on: December 09, 2010, 01:00:50 PM »
I just had the wierdest thing happen. I am hoping one of you can help me with this. I created a new point style (KRW_Found Cross in the attached). when I insert a point the point label text is where I would expect it to be, but the symbol is way off in space. What did I do to make the symbol so far off? Is it my block definition, or is it the point style?

ok, I double checked and I did have the block at 0,0. I noticed that anytime I did a zoom extents, it needed to regen, so I thought something was funny with UCS, changed that. No help.

I copied the block into another drawing, saved it as the original block, that fixed the problem.

The original block was created by someone else, so... who knows.

reminds me of another post wherein it was suggested that particular method would be the best long term solution to similar block issues

A person editing blocks, or administering blocks NOT originally of their creation.
The mystery was a missuse of the BASE command.  Sometimes it is faster to just salvage the geometry, and attributes than it is to discover that some block(s) have floundered on you.
