At a lose. Dialog not popping up in center??
« on: September 26, 2007, 03:16:02 PM »
So I just installed Electrical '08 to check some of my routines.  Every time I use a lisp routine that has a dialog box, the dialog box pops up on the other screen (dual monitors).  I don't understand it.  I went back to check it my '06 would do the same thing, but it pops up in the right location.  Is there a variable that needs to be set that I don't know about?  I even tried what the help file says to center the dialog with the Acad window, but that didn't work either.

Am I just losing it?  :ugly:

Acad told me that there is new drivers for my vid card, so I checked it out on their web site, and my isn't supported for '08, so I dl'ed one that was.  It didn't fix the problem, even after rebooting.

One weird thing is, if I switch my Acad to the other monitor, it will show all the dialogs in the correct locations, but not on the monitor I use for my drawing programs.  Not cool.  :-(

Which is monitor No.1 ?

And does the width resolution span across the 2 monitors ?

The big one where my Acad is at.

Not sure what you mean.  The program does not span both monitors.
Monitor 1 = 1280x1024
Monitor 2 = 1024 x 768 (has to be set this low for Ug)

Does that answer your question?

i don't know the answer. only guessing here.
how did u set up your two monitors? attached image shows my setting. but i doubt that will fix the problem because you said it doesn't happen with AutoCAD 2006.

Kelie,

That is how mine is setup also, but my monitor 2 is the primary monitor.  Maybe that is the problem.  I can test that tomorrow, as it is time to go home now.  :-)

I have dual monitors set up to have 2 separate displays.

Occasionally, and by that I mean all the time, a dialogue box will appear on my main monitor, next time it appears on my second monitor, and then back again, then it starts doing it at random, moving back and forth, it's very annoying as you have to keep looking for it, rather than it appearing in the same location.
