The second post down is really good.

Thanks Ron...I cant believe the amount of talent out there...where do you gurus find the time???? :)

RD I found that the one posted by Keith in the same thread works even better than the one I origonally posted. Go down about 5-6 posts ... Keith's has a DCL file that gives you an awsome little dialog box for setting units, precision scale factor ets..... and it will also give you chord length......

I have no experience dealing with DCL files....I'll look on afralisp and find out how to work with them and give it a whirl..... 8)

Nothing to using a DCl file. Just make sure you place it in the ACAD search path
and run the Lisp as you normally would. the lisp will find the DCL file and run it.

RD....
I don't know anything about em either but I sure like em.....my understanding is that it's basiclly a dialog box thingie. I have a dir called "acadf" in the ACAD search path. all my 3rd party lisps & such are there. Just place the DCL in the same dir as your lsp and run the app. First time out it sets its self up and is ready to go.....easy.

It's even easier now that we can compile them right into one file. (read .vlx) :D

I actually have a VLX of that proggie

Then again, CAB's proggy plottabs is a neat little way to make a dcl file so you don't have to. Of course, has anyone who's used it seen or felt the computer speed degradation that goes on from using it. CAB, nice work on that, but we need to figure out how to release our objects. I have to restart my computer after using it.

Daron, what does plottabs have to do with an arc length?

I think what Daron was refering to was the inclusion of the DCL file with the lisp.
Here is the source if anyone is interested.

That's not good. :(
I read the thread recently about releasing vla-objects but am STILL vla challanged. It never gave me a problem but, I will look into it.

Daron,
See this topic & the post at the end by Sinc.

looks like a gc at the start &/or end of the main routine should clean house but
perhaps the problem you are having is related to something else.
If I could recreate the problem I would research it.

I have read that. I'm not sure what to make of things. All I know is if I intend to use plottabs, I better be prepared to restart my computer afterwards. I think my work computer here just stinks.
