If I have a Survey Xref that I need to trace a line that has a lot of vertexes. I want to be able to click at a starting point then follow the line with my cursor where it auto snaps (clicks) until I select the last point where it ends.

or let me ask, is this
A) a contour line
B) a figure line?
there might be a best way to get that object in your current file depending on what it is?
for contour line >>> use EXTRACT object
for Figure >>> Insert to current file from survey toolspace

It is not a Feature Line. Its not a contour. Its usually existing line work I have to trace and place on its own layer. So I thought I might be able to select the layer (demo) that I want, then trace over the curb or whatever I want. Usually when we trace it, we CLICK each ENDPOINT. A lot of CLICKS... Is it lazy to click less?

linework...AKA it should be a survey FIGURE and then you would NEVER have to trace again
make use of the survey toolspace....
create figure from object command...
then the figure(s) is portable

Maybe this would do?
