Converting AECC Points
« on: April 30, 2008, 04:25:47 PM »
I'm trying to convert AECC Points and getting the ole error:
Select AutoCAD points:
ERROR: Invalid selection set!

It seems I found a way around this within Civil 3D before, but I cannot remember. Jog my memory please.

Can I have a copy of the file in question? Just to see what type of points we are dealing with.

Command: li LIST 1 found

                  AECC_POINT  Layer: "POINTS"
                            Space: Model space
                   Color: BYLAYER    Linetype: "Continuous"
                   Handle = 4f03

OK, so they are AECC points alright.

Then the user needs to go to Points>>Utilities>>Convert Land Desktop Points.

I think optionally you could have also approached this as a MAP Query to a Report  File, and use those as your Points to import. Both methods work equally well.

The resultant surface doesn't look too shabby either.

Ahh that's much better. I knew I could count on you Mike. Now on to that surface... I have a few breaklines to create in the morn.

In the event that I wanted to run a Map query on the aecc points what expression would I use for the elevational value?

Sadly no....I'll look at that data and see if another expression will yield the desired results.
