Does anyone know of a place where I could find some architectural fonts to download for free? I have found several that require payment, but I don't want to buy a load of fonts that I am not going to use. We were looking for a font that looks like actual hand writing, not city blueprint, but something that has that hand written feel to it. Thanks

What's the font you're looking for?  Or do you know the name of it?

I don't exactly know the name of it, we just happen to see one on a plotted sheet and liked it. I have tried to search and find examples, but I have had no luck.

Here is one we use.  It's called archstyl.  If the link doesn't work then look in the lilly pond under whdjr.

That's pretty close, I like that one too. The one we saw had a little more slant to it, nothing compared to the blueprint fonts, but enough to make it look good. Thanks for the help.

I've been searching Google, but I'm finding nothing much, really...
Is it possible for you to ask the creator of the plot you were looking at?

No, I thought about asking that same question, but the drawing doesn't have a titleblock on it and we don't know where it came from. We are certain it's a cad dwg though.

If you change the "oblique angle" and/or "width factor" when setting up text styles, you can create  a lot of different looking text styles using the same font.
Tweak em till they look jest right to ya! :)

Post a .jpg of the font, I've got a ton of fonts I've picked up over the years and I'm sure we can make something work.

do you have COGOAID.shx? I need it.
I got a site plan with that in it. Not sure if it's a real font and one someone made.

Thanks megamike, that really created some interesting fonts.

My boss has found one more he really likes. Has anyone heard or have au150s04.shx? It's nothing fancy, just simple and clean looking.

Yeah, that one is nice.
Are you still looking for your original font?

I would like to find the first one I was talking about, but there is no way to really show it. We don't have scanner, so that's out. Maybe someone will post an example and it will be the one.

Sounds like it's one of those shape files that something like Eagle Point may have created.  Out of the 346 fonts I have, that ain't one of them.. Sorry..
