Error when opening Civil 3D 2009
« on: January 07, 2010, 12:59:18 PM »
We are getting two errors when opening a session of Civil 3D 2009:

First one says: "CreateFile failed with error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."

Then after that you get: "WriteFile failed with error 6: The handle is invalid."

We have gone as far as to unload all Autodesk products on this Computer and reinstalled them but that did not work as we are still getting the same error. What could be the problem here and what would be the solution?

Dough, did you verify network connectivity and Drive Mappings?

and or did you adjust settings to save/open from local source as a test?

And can you verify that the local TEMP directory is empty and try again?

I tried that one as well...that did not work!  It gets to the "Aecc Base" on installation and then just holds up.  A suggestion from another site was to repair the ".net Framework" that did nothing but it was fun to do!

is this a NEW computer....or a computer that WAS running the application fines and is NOW blown out or just what?

Time for a NEW Hard Drive...and shut off the anti virus during the installation....

or Clone the HD of a working Machine...

Figured it out...it helps if you delete the proper Temp files!  :-D :lmao:
