Dub,
Can you give some examples of when you crash? Is it opening the drawing? During panning? More info will be easier to troubleshoot.
Ron
Sorry Ron, I missed that post.
It doesn't really 'crash' too often at all, but the lags happen at very odd times. Most of our network resides on the O:\ drive. There are many directories under that drive. One of them is Drawings. Under drawings, there are TONS of directories. The only time I ever really get the lag is when I'm using any kind of file system dialog box such as Open, Save As, Insert, etc...most of the directories are fine, but when I browse to O:\Drawings, it takes up to and over 3 minutes to display the folders. I have no idea why. Browsing to the root of O:\ is fine, all directories under O:\Drawings\ are fine, but that one (the one I browse to most often) is really p!$$!ng me off!!! It seemed to go a little faster after I did a disk cleanup, but nothing too drastic. I'm not sure if there's some kind of setting I made or sketchy application I've installed or what...I'll see when I finish loading the other CAD guy's computer which happens to be identical to mine. I'm going to test it before and after I install each program. Maybe the process of elimination will tell me what to do.
Any ideas?
By the way, Thanks to everyone who's responding to my original post. Some of you are pretty lucky, but I think that's all relative.
